La Môme
It’s been almost a year since Marcus Wareing closed the doors to his beloved restaurant at The Berkeley. But this month, they’ll be opened once again by restaurateurs (and brothers) Ugo and Antoine Lecorché, AKA the minds behind the pair of A-lister La Môme hangouts in Cannes and Monte Carlo. They say they want to ‘bring the elegance of the 1960s French Riviera to Belgravia’, and they’re doing so via Slim Aarons photographs, nightly live music, and a menu that favours tableside preparation (try the flame-grilled fish of the day).

Vatavaran
We’re expecting big things from Vatavaran – and not only because it’s inspired by the Himalayan mountains. It’s the new four-storey Knightsbridge opening from Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai (also behind one of our favourite restaurants in Chelsea), with each of the four floors representing a different element of the Himalayan landscape. The menu mixes familiar faces (hi again, butter chicken) with more intriguing numbers like the lobster neelgiri and rotisserie chicken kala masala served with bone marrow sauce.

The Prince Arthur
It’s not often we recommend pub dining. But this glam new pub is doing things a bit differently. Not only is its Guinness game on point (the team has installed the same tap system you’d find in Ireland), but the food menu also leans on the luxe side – they’ve even created their own brand of caviar. There’s a fresh seafood counter featuring everything from baby eels to sea urchins, and they’ve brought in ex-BRAT chef Adam Iglesias to whip up a Spanish-inspired menu including the likes of lamb sweetbreads and monkfish with lobster bisque.

Dove
Jackson Boxer. He’s the man who consistently knocks it out of the park with his restaurant concepts – Henri, Brunswick House, Below Stone Nest... And in January, his next opening takes flight: Dove in Notting Hill. He’s taken the site of Orasay, his beloved fine-diner, which he closed at the end of December, and swapped in a more accessible, laid-back menu – a concept he describes as food he ‘wants to cook and eat right now’. Think truffle lasagne, lemon and ricotta dumplings with lobster cream, and roast chicken with fennel and blood orange.

Bar Valette
We were wondering what former The Clove Club chef-founder Isaac McHale was going to do next. And now we have the answer: a casual Shoreditch eatery called Bar Valette. He’s pulled in the head chef from The Clove Club (Erin Jackson Yates), who will be serving comforting, accessible dishes reminiscent of Clove Club classics – like buttermilk fried chicken with pine salt. The rest of the menu is a ‘love affair of Southern French cuisine and simple French cooking’ – AKA dishes designed to go beautifully with sherry.
